The objective of cohesion policy to date has been to manage the effects of these disparities across Europe and act as a policy instrument that illustrates the commitment of Member States to tackling the structural deficiencies of the Union, together. This study aims to assess the impact of economic and social cohesion policies and introduce the concept to territorial cohesion as an essential component of cohesion policy.
